I cannot say enough good things about our stay. You can tell they are working hard to improve and upgrade the property since the new owners took over. The cabins are cozy, the river is beautiful and you can fish, ride horses, ride the river or just relax. They have a beautiful deck off the restaurant/bar that is so calming to sit and read a book on or just to take a nap. I look forward to our trip every year and already can't wait for next year. If you're planning on being in the area stop in and relax along the beautifiul river.

Stay at Harmels if you want a quiet time on a beautiful river with a couple of hiking trails, along with nearby rock climbing! We've stayed here two years in a row and think it a wonderful place. It is nice to have the complimentary breakfast outside on the patio that extends to the river.

This review originally noted a problem with a room and the management responded to me with assurance that the problem is being addressed, yay!

Stayed here for a wedding at the end of September and loved it! Lots of activities to do and the most beautiful river views. The staff was SO friendly and welcoming!!

My only complaints about the studio cabin I was in: the bathroom had a window right above the toilet- no privacy options at all, so I didn’t want to turn on the bathroom light at night, and there wasn’t any kind of closet/drawers set up to put clothes away.

Also- the restaurant is great! Breakfast potatoes were soooooo good!!

Happened upon The Harmels and decided to stay even though we were pulling a camper. Diane was most accommodating and we fell in love with cabin #28! The river, fishing, food and e-bike riding was wonderful! John was so helpful and nice too! We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for this amazing blessing!

I wish I could give a rating higher than 5 stars! Our family recently stayed for an extended weekend and we can't wait to come back. The rooms had everything you could need and everything was very clean. We were traveling with two young children and the included buffet breakfast had so many choices, everyone in our party was happy. The location alone is gorgeous and worth the drive but with so many onsite choices for things to do ... you can't go wrong staying here!

As a local cabin owner along Spring Creek, I just can't say enough good things about Harmels on the Taylor - from its gorgeous location to the incredible people who are part of the Harmels Team to the offerings of activities, food, and places to lay your head after a fun day! Yesterday the family and I enjoyed an absolutely fabulous horseback riding experience with Shane and Amy as our guides. Their kindness and fun conversation made the ride extra special - right down to the "antics" of the horse named French Fry! What fun! The food served at Harmels is delicious with a staff that is so kind and welcoming whether enjoying a meal inside or on the beautiful patio overlooking the gorgeous Taylor River - a fisherman's paradise - or while sipping on a great cappuccino from Bucks on the Taylor! It's also always a "must stop" for some java if driving to another locale for some extra fun! The staff is incredibly gracious, knowledgeable about the activities and more in the entire Gunnison Valley and makes one glad they inquired about almost anything in the area - local festivals, mountain biking opps, fishing, rafting, and more. While I've never stayed at the cabins/rooms, I've had a chance to take a peek at a few and they are fabulous for whatever size family or group is staying there - updated with a great western feel! Harmels has got it all and it's a pleasure to give them a 5 star review! Thank you to all at Harmels for helping us make amazing memories in this most gorgeous spot on the planet!

VERY NICE AS A WEDDING VENUE. My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding and rehearsal dinner at Harmels on the Taylor recently and it was a wonderful venue. The chef and service was excellent and Harmels bent over backwards to be accommodating in every way. We had approximately 95 people with a large tent set up next to the river and it was gorgeous! If staying in the cabins know that they are quite rustic. Ours had a very small bathroom but sitting on the deck next to the river made up for it. I highly recommend if looking for an affordable wedding venue near Crested Butte and you love the outdoors.

Our 6-year-old had a great time at her first horseback riding lesson. The wranglers did great with her. They knew what she needed - a gentle reminder, a confidence boost, or a fun trot with her horse, Dobs! I cannot recommend them enough.

The staff at the main resort were also very friendly and helpful when we were asking questions about lessons or other things. We’ve interacted with Harmels every trip to Colorado we’ve been on and it’s always a good experience.
